Kat Shapiro Wood’s solo exhibition at Tweed Regional Gallery

Kat Shapiro Wood’s solo exhibition, ‘Precipice: The Edges of Things’ is on view at Tweed Regional Gallery from April 19th until October 13th. The works in the exhibition speak to meeting points, boundaries, transitions and the charged dynamic of the threshold – that precipice where both potential and surrender are at play. Shapiro Wood’s materials complement and contrast simultaneously, leaving us with a visual dance that is both gesture and quiet presence, precariousness and balance.

Kat Shapiro Wood brings an acute sensory attention to her chosen materials, paying particular attention to colours, surfaces and their margins. Her work is infused with a sensuousness and poetic association that results from a slow and quiet exploration in an elusive, liminal realm.
